November 2001:
November 30, 2001: How has your deer season been? There has been alot of talk about how the deer seem to be "locked up", I guess these means there are a lot of hunters not seeing the deer they expected. There have been few reports of the rut starting . Maybe, some of you can send me some reports. So far, my hunts in Texas, Tennessee and Mississippi have not produced any signs of rutting bucks. Send me an e-mail and let me know if you have found the bucks rutting and where. What a Smile and for Good Reason!!!!
Tim, my son in San Antonio sent me this picture. We can all understand why he is SMILING!!!!
Rocky Burrus of Tennessee w/his Thanksgiving Buck November 26, 2001:
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!!! The deer hunting
in Tennessee and Mississippi has been a little slow. The forest
are full of Acorns and browse and the deer are not coming out to where
you can film and shoot. Many of you have been sending me pictures
and I will try to share them with The Texas Deer Hunter Family as soon
as I can. Let me know how your hunt is going .

November 13, 2001: How was your opening weekend. The Texas Deer Hunter cameras found it pretty slow going, with very few deer moving during the day. A report from Jason Browning was that the deer were moving around 4 am and 8 pm according to the video cameras located throughout his lease. Send us an e-mail and let us know how you did this week. November 2, 2001: It is that magical day when thousands of hunters will take to the highways in route to deer hunting destinations across the state. Most of us are going to have warm weather for opening weekend and an almost full moon. My past experience demonstrates that the full moon's primary effect will be on the time that deer move. You will probably see deer moving later in the morning and not as much at dawn and dusk. you might want to stay in your stands a little later and go back a little earlier in the afternoon.
