made the world a better place or we can mourn our loss." Jason McCullen
was our Hunt of A Lifetime Hunter recently down close to Mason, Texas.
Jason lost his fight with cancer but won in making the world in which he lived a better place for all of those who met him. I will never forget the time I spent with Jason nor will any of the participants of the Hunt of A Lifetime in which Jason was the STAR. My prayers go out to Jason's family for their loss but I prefer to celebrate that he lived and for just a moment, I was allowed to share in his love of hunting.

November 11, 2002: While hunting at the
WWR near Sabinal, Larry from Louisana harvested this nice main frame
10 pt with 3 kickers. Congratulations Larry. That is one great
deer.

Darrell Harris (86 yrs old) told me about the sling shots he has been using for 80 years
November 6. 2002: Sometimes you are right.
I had suggested that you might stay in the deer stand a little
later this weekend. All signs point to the fact that deer may
be moving a little later. This was confirmed yesterday when,
I saw about 10 deer feeding in a field about 12 o'clock noon. So,
you might stay in the stand a little longer if you don't see anything
early. You might get a later chance.
November 5, 2002: At 86 years young Darrell
Harris has some history to share. The sling shot in my right
hand was carved from a tree 75 years ago. Mr. Harris started using
a sling shot 80 years ago to harvest his meals. Many squirrels and
rattle snake have fallen victim to Mr. Harris' skill with this almost
forgotten tool. If you would be interested in obtaining a slingshot
built by a real master, you can call Mr. Harris at 817-579-6311.
November 2, 2002: If the bucks that came in to Kenny Fred's in Bluffdale are any example, the 2002 Whitetail Deer Season is off to a good start. The Big Buck Contest produced 3 winners in the adult and youth division and I will bring you their individual pictures in the next week. The deer were good and fellowship with other hunters was great.
