Helpful Hints for Hunters & Outdoorsmen

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN A SPRAY BOTTLE - Put hydrogen peroxide in a small spray bottle.  When trailing a deer you can spray it on suspected blood drops to confirm it really is blood.  If the peroxide does not cause the spot to bubble up, it is not blood.

SCENT FREE HUNTING CLOTHES: Store your hunting clothes in a plastic or rubber resealable container with Baking Soda to help keep them scent free.

MOSQUITO REPELLENT:  If you have to sleep outdoors and mosquitoes are a problem, spread wilted willow branches around your sleeping area to keep mosquitoes away.

HICCUPS:  Drink water through a paper towel to help stop the hiccups.

BULL NETTLE: If you get into Bull Nettle, rub the effected area with leaves from other plants to relieve the itching.

CHIGGERS & TICKS: I have been told that if you bath with Dial soap, it will help repel chiggers and ticks.  It has worked for me.

HUMAN SCENT:  If you don't have one of the commercial scent free soaps available, Ivory soap will help reduce human order without a lingering perfume smell.

WARM FEET:  An investment in a good pair of boots is a modest expenditure for warm feet.
