FIRST

Today was another special day for the Texas Deer Hunter camera! For those of you that were able to listen to Texas Deer Hunter Radio last week, you heard about a special hunt I had with a young man by the name of Kyle Hoelscher. This was an exciting hunt to say the least and one that will go down in my memory as one of my most memorable and I will try to share it with you in the near future. Today was another one of those hunts, as I had to the privilege of hunting with Christi Getts. Christi is a young lady from the Dallas area that didn't come from a hunting family and has just recently been introduced to bowhunting by her husband Timm. Robert Hoague of www.Bowhunting.net had come by and introduced Timm and Christi to me and told me that Christi was trying for her first deer and with a bow. I asked in a begging manner for permission to accompany her on this very special occasion, after a little thought it was agreed, so I set up to meet them a little later in the day. Arriving on time, we were soon in our stands and the anticipation was soon realized when several deer came straight into our stand location, only to turn and leave as quickly as they came. Minutes passed and soon they were back again from another direction. The things and questions that can go through your head in such a short period of time are amazing. How could it be for someone who had never harvested a deer? Time would tell and it didn't take much time. As, I was watching with the camera the twang of Christi's bow broke the silence and soon we would learn that she had been successful. Christi had harvested her first deer. The multitude of emotions combined with success and accomplishment made this a hunt I know Christi will always remember and one more that I can add to my cherished memories. Thanks to Robert, Timm and Christi for allowing me the opportunity to share with them and you this very special moment. About
